Discontent amongst marketers and creators directed towards AI continues to grow; generative Large Language Models are slowly becoming the go-to for some places, including concert halls, pubs and restaurants. Businesses that traditionally position themselves as people-centric are now slowly eroding people from their online presence.

The trend of frustration is rising as more venues now actively ban the use of AI. This is not a localised phenomenon; rather, it is fast becoming a worldwide movement. Recently, the Thomas House in Dublin issued a public statement stating, "We're not accepting AI posters or flyers for the pub," after seeing an influx of the generic and often error-riddled artworks being pushed across their bar, following these sentiments up with, "We're right next to Ireland's biggest art college."
This is not a standalone case. A prominent music venue in Oakland, California, named Thee Stork Club, put its foot down in September 2025 and prohibited the use of AI, all while being situated in the largest hub of AI innovation in the world. San Diego Comic-Con also had to backpedal on its original stance after fury and backlash from independent traders and artists at their show.
Their first outlined stance was that AI artwork had to be marked as not for sale and credit original sources and inspirations, but attendees and vendors quickly turned on the organisers, leading to an outright ban to preserve the human-centric event.

Graphic design and food draw a lot more similarities than you may think. Both require care, thought and ingredients; the use of lower-quality elements will always leave a bad taste in people's mouths. That's exactly what is happening now as graphic designers are propelled to Michelin-star status by the companies who use them, while the likes of ChatGPT are relegated to the status of a fast and easy kebab van. Human-led curation on both the design and physical media fronts will become the premium for brands wanting to build a reputation and demonstrate to others that creativity and thought are at the forefront of everything they do.

Both Direct Mail and Leaflet Distribution are experiencing a renaissance. Digital mistrust and a yearning deep in the psyche for the physical are driving this behaviour shift, as 2026 sees companies dedicating up to 25% of their marketing budgets to Direct Mail. Leaflet Distribution continues to be the weapon of choice for many SMEs, and recently has seen larger sectors get involved, such as broadband providers.

FAQ
We’ve got you covered. Below are answers to some of the most common queries from businesses like yours.
No. The companies that wish to display their people-centric qualities and lean into the human touch will continue to champion human-led design work; the shift will likely see smaller businesses with tighter budgets lean on powerful LLM’s to provide outputs.
Digital trust is at an all-time low, seeing used to be believing, but touch has become the final sense we can trust as humans. This has massively boosted trust in physical media and propped up the reinvestment in Direct Mail.
As more businesses use AI to create marketing materials, much of that content begins to look and sound similar. Original ideas, mindful design and authentic copywriting help businesses stand out in an increasingly automated marketplace.
When used correctly, AI is a fantastic tool that can be used as a sounding board for complex ideas or as a research assistant, quickly pulling together citations and data that can then be fact-checked and weaved into articles and writing.
